Ecotoxicology, environmental fate and
risk assessment
Behaviour
and Effects in the Environment
The
following outlines the kind of services we provide in the
area of applied ecotoxicology, environmental fate and risk
assessment:
Literature
Review
Retrieval, organization, analysis
and presentation of accurate information on the behavior
and toxicity of substances in the environment.
Environmental
fate
Determination of the fate of substances
in soil, water and air and derivation of predicted environmental
concentrations (PECs) according to procedures specific for
different types of industries (chemicals, consumer products,
pesticides or biocides, pharmaceuticals).
Ecotoxicology
Scientific and regulatory interpretation
of toxicity data on aquatic (fish, daphnia, algae, sediment-dwellers)
and terrestrial (birds and mammals, soil macro and micro-organisms,
non-target arthropods) organisms. Derivation of Predicted
No Effect Concentrations (PNECs).
Testing
Strategy
Development of regulation-specific
testing strategies, including possibilities for modeling
and read-across.
Study
Management
Placement and monitoring of studies
in the areas of physico-chemistry, environmental fate and
ecotoxicology (aquatic and terrestrial, including non-target
arthropods).
Risk
Assessment
Comprehensive deterministic and probabilistic
environmental health risk assessments.
